HOW IT STARTED

Protect-a-Pipe (Pipe Shield) was born in 2008, whilst conducting plumbing maintenance and receiving recurring calls to repair PVC rainwater downpipes that were repeatedly damaged by line trimmers and mowers.

Over the years we have had many rainwater downpipe repair requests from property managers, building inspectors, termite inspectors and property owners. As a result, we came up with a simple but effective preventative solution that was affordable, easy to install with an invisible fit and with worry free lawn cutting.

These days, modern buildings use PVC pipes that pass through lawn areas and around buildings where the common use of line trimmers for grass cutting causes damage to many of these pipes. PVC also deteriorates in direct sunlight over time therefore becoming brittle and easily broken. Protect-a-Pipe Pipe Shields can prevent the damage from occurring in the first place.
